Yes they would seem to have lost the gift of sensitivity to warn others in a way that could be pleasing to our God.
I placed in bold the part that is relevant to my reply.
An issue so few consider is that anytime you challenge someone's deeply held beliefs it has a tendency to incite a strong reaction.
This is why Jesus said I don't come to bring peace but a sword in Matthew 10:34: and in Hebrews 4:12 it is written,
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
as anyone can surmise from the speech used here, a sword that can do all that is sharp indeed and the wounds it has the ability to open can be exceedingly deep.
While in whatever way we are able we should share Christ with those who don't know Him, not every believer is gifted to what it may entail to actually bring someone from where they are, to a saving faith in Christ.
As posited in 1 Corinthians 12, the body of Christ works best, when it works according to the way God has gifted His people, and He doesn't gift us all alike. People as a whole may run into issues trying to operate outside of their own God-given ability.
If God gifted someone in a completely different area, they're going to run into problems attempting to take on the mantle of prophet or teacher or apostle. Yet people attempt to do it every day.
It's better to operate within one's own gifts at 100% capacity while allowing others to operate within theirs. Because when people go into defense mode because someone's shared with them God's Word and it's dividing their joints from their marrow, some Christians may be ill equipped to deal with the resulting reactions and arguments that pain brings forth.
This doesn't mean don't share our faith, but for some Christians it may mean share it in a different way, like inviting an individual to church with you, or buying that lost individual a well written book on our faith for them to read at leisure and simply being an example of the faith in action in whatever way your gifted, because in the end the way that is pleasing to God isn't intended to sound pleasant to the ears of lost men, nor will it.
If you have a "cool" faith much loved by lost men, you likely don't have Christ at all.
“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you." John 15:18-19
Just some thoughts anyway.
