I've only ever had one experience with a JW coming to my door. It was well before I was saved. They came to talk to me about Jesus and not having a Bible in hand they asked me to go get my own so they could show me what they were talking about.
I told them then I had no Bible to go get as I wasn't of the Christian faith. They asked me if I would like one and I said yes, I actually would like to read one, I had questions about it.
They offered to bring me one the next day, and I never saw them again. Lol... so the only thing I know about them, is they have no Bibles!
Haha.. true story. I'm probably the only person on earth who instinctively knew how to get rid of a JW. Hahaha
IF you make a firm stand against them, they will report back to the watchtower that you are a commited Christian, and no longer be visited!
Thats the issue though, I wasn't. I did tell them what faith I believed in, maybe it was that. ..
I have heard that as well. That may also mean that because there are more Southern Baptists there would then be more converts to JW.
Just shows how important to get into the scriptures and really know what one believes!
I have had some experience with the JW’s on a forum board as well as them coming to the door two by two. They like Catholics have a unbiblical approach to the use of the word metaphor “drink blood”
Neither group looks to the spiritual understanding hid in the parable “to drink blood” as it pertains to walking by faith and not by sight. The meaning is given in another parable in the Old Testament showing the effect of the gospel (drink blood) being worked out.
I have had some experience with the JW’s coming to the door two by two. It would seem most of the time two women. Like perhaps not enough male volunteer’s.? I would ask where are the men and to be careful.
It’s a great principle being sent out two by two .Husband and wife as one. But I don’t think they should be sent alone especially in some areas. Even Deborah (the Bee) took along a man to show the whole world how to trust God as two working as one.
They simply literalize the parable (to drink blood) making the word of God without effect. One claims grape juice actually turns into real flesh and blood as in cannibalism. . Glorying in their own flesh. The other claim is if you drink it or take it in is an abomination it must be poured out.
The JW’s understanding (no blood transfusions) is a work to the father of lies .In that way he is a murderer from the beginning. . . .”Though shall surely not die.. Look at me and live. . .”
Both harmful in their misunderstandings. The parables remain parables with no hidden gospel meaning revealed.it remains wonderment? As a source of doubt? And in that way only the truth revealed in the parable could set a person free.
Mark 4:11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
