This too depends on a person's background as far as where to start... many people have heard about Jesus as if He's another Ghandi, and have little background in which to process topics found within the core of Christianity.
The Gospel as it is, is slightly bigger than some think and slightly smaller than others believe. If you don't understand the true nature of God coupled with His judgment and forgiveness, processing salvation in truth will be impossible.

Most Cultist are preprogrammed in the bible well enough to defend their cult beliefs, but can jar them by asking them about scriptures they never really look at!
Most I know work real hard to protect and prove an agenda that is false from the very start. Then they have to work twice as hard to prove something that does not even exist.
It is very much like a liar. He tells a lie, then he has to tell another one to prop up the 1st lie and then it just keeps going on and on.
I have seen how just asking a simple question to say a Mormon like"'what is the Gospel" seem to give them fits!
Sometimes the smallest of questions can get inside someone's head and eventually in God's timing, set them upon the right path to know Him in truth.
Must also make sure that we agree upon meaning of terms, as Cultists use same terms totally different meanings!
I think that's where I get thrown off, I can't always see tiny little nuances in discussions and that has a tendency to throw me off a lot.

I didn't see it then, because it would all come out in the open if I did get the job. Yikes!
It would be helpful to tell your friends that JW's actually know more about the Bible than does the average church going Christian!
OK. Since they reject completly the diety of Christ they have to work overtime to prove what can not be proven where we simply believe and go on.
I am the opposite. I am a "detail" kind of person and I actually look for the little things.
I think for me it's likely I just don't always know what to look for.
Usually if your adept in a particular topic you can spot inconsistencies, and while I feel adept in Scripture, I don't know "Christianese" (for want of a better term) and many people even upholding good theology can't communicate it clearly so you can't tell at first blush whether they don't know the topic matter or just have a poor ability to communicate their ideas and the list goes on, so somewhere in all the mess nuances yet escape my attention. I can only spot them in those who can more clearly communicate.

JW always will use terms like jesus as Messiah, Son of God, and Mormons will add trinity, but NONE of that is how we see them as meaning!
Believe that the JW claim that singlr biggest converters to them were former baptists! They know really well though just their proof texts on jesus not being God, and what "salvation" really means!
That is why must have Mormons and JW define terms, as some might think that they now agree with us using those terms!
