Words You May Not Know In The KJV

The recent discussion regarding KJV onlyism has once again got me to thinking about the KJV.

I think most of us are aware that the English of the KJV is at least somewhat different from the English we speak today. Some of the words in the KJV are now considered obsolete or archaic. I thought we might sift through some of these words (and idioms) and see how many we know.

I will provide a verse\passage and highlight a word or phrase. Anyone who knows (or think they know) the meaning of the word may post an answer.

Rules:
(1) You may read the larger context of the example in order to discern the meaning.
(2) You may check other contexts but only in the KJV which used the same English word.
(3) You may NOT use other translations or helps of any kind.

First example:

"I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it." (Lev. 26:16)

What does ague mean?
 
while i sue kjv bible and i have njkb if anyone is interested i have a mormon bible gave to me. that makes about the same amount of sense as politics.. i also have a nwt Jehovah witness Bible .that in same category as the mormon .

what ever translation /version you like then use it.. kjv is not the authorized version.. this subject makes as much sense as the discussion of can you or can you not lose salvation

I don't think Origen is claiming that KJV is the only version worthy of study, rather, he is offering to help clear up some of the confusion that some people may have because they don't know what some words mean. He has invited us to play along and learn some of these definitions, in a fun way. Do you know what ague means? I don't want to cheat and look it up because it takes away from his intention. I look forward to learning some old words.

Two that really shows change in meaning of words from then unto now would be where the Kjv stated that he that letteth Him, for the Holy Spirit preventing man of Sin being revealed, so let meant prevent back then, and also let your conversation be wholesome meant lifestyle and behavior, not to stop swearing

Based on the context which uses the word consumption (what was of old to designate cancer), and sowing in vain, my guess is that ague means some kind of fatal sickness.
 
Second example:

"And the Lord God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:" (2 Chron. 36:15)

What is "betimes"?
