Correct!

The Word of Faith movement grew out of the Pentecostal movement in the late 20th century. Its founder was E. W. Kenyon, who studied the metaphysical New Thought teachings of Phineas Quimby. Mind science (where "name it and claim it" originated) was combined with Pentecostalism, resulting in a peculiar mix of orthodox Christianity and mysticism. Kenneth Hagin, in turn, studied under E. W. Kenyon and made the Word of Faith movement what it is today. Although individual teachings range from completely heretical to completely ridiculous, what follows is the basic theology most Word of Faith teachers align themselves with.

At the heart of the Word of Faith movement is the belief in the "force of faith." It is believed words can be used to manipulate the faith-force, and thus actually create what they believe Scripture promises (health and wealth). Laws supposedly governing the faith-force are said to operate independently of God’s sovereign will and that God Himself is subject to these laws. This is nothing short of idolatry, turning our faith—and by extension ourselves—into god.

That my brothers and sister is exactly what Satan promised Adam and Eve in the Garden over 6000 years ago.

I never looked into WOF movement that much, thanks.

I really don’t get how they can be so sure that it’s lack of faith or prayer that’s the problem. If that’s the case, then I’ll argue to say, that the pastor in question is not teaching the correct way to pray if one of his flock is sick or poor. I think these churches should be buy now pay later( after the healing)
That’ll put a stop to their chocolates😊
Most of their teaching and doctrines come from mind science like so called Christian Science, not biblical Christianity!

Many in the Christian community are quick to apply the term "false teacher" or "false prophet" to anyone who professes a view at odds with their own. Any of the subjects our rules here prohibit it (see "Topics Which May Not Be Discussed" post under Doctrinal Discussions) could generate strident posts labeling it as either a fundamental truth or a false teaching.

But as important as these topics are, and they would not generate arguments if they were unimportant, they are not about the same kind of false teaching as the scriptures warn about.

To determine whether a subject is a FALSE TEACHING rather than a controversial topic, it is often good to examine whether Christ is the center (or if a man is the center) and what is the nature of Christ and our relationship to Him.

In many of the faith healer activities the center is the man, not the Lord. There is little emphasis on healing the fundamental chasm between the unregenerate man and the Lord. Nor is there great teaching regarding how to live for the Lord.

But God is generous in His dealing with His people. His manner of working is not usually flashy but more subtle.
His loving will does not allow us, His people to consider themselves physicaly separate from those around us while He does expect us to be spiritually reserved to Him.

I can not speak for anyone but myself. As for me, I am in fact quick to apply the words "false teacher" and "false Prophet" when anyone professes a personal view which is a odds with the written Word of God.

One of the reasons why so many false teachings abound today is because way too many of us keep quiet because we do not want to be confrontational or lose friends over a spiritual issue.

However, I am more concerned about what God will say to ME on judgment day than I am about what anyone will say to me today.

Ezekiel 33:6 is the Scripture that I have lived by..........
“But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.”

They also hold with divine health and wealth, so if any believer poor or sick, lack of faith period!

Correct. Can you believe that any person would say that "Jesus had to be born again while in hell"

The very thought that Jesus had to be born again is repulsive however, Here are the actual words of Kenneth Hagin:
"Physical death would not remove our sins. He tasted death for every man - spiritual death. Jesus is the first person ever to be born again. Why did HIS spirit need to be born again? Because it was estranged from God." ("The Name Of Jesus", Kenneth E. Hagin, pp. 29-30.)]

Let's see what Fred Price says about this poison that Kenyon, Hagin, and Copeland have made so popular. Price stated:

"Do you think that the punishment for our sin was to die on a cross? If that were the case, the two thieves could have paid your price. No, the punishment was to go into hell itself and to serve time in hell separated from God ... Satan and all the demons of hell thought that they had Him bound and they threw a net over Jesus and dragged Him down to the very pit of hell itself to serve our sentence." ("Ever Increasing Faith Message", June 1980 Audio).

That statement says that the BLOOD of Gods Son the Lord Jesus Christ had NO effect on our sins.

Now I encourage all of you to THINK about that for just a moment. THAT is the kind of theology being taught by the Word of Faith movement.

Now if all this is breaking the sites rules and our mods do not want these proven, written words to be posted, please let me know.

The problem with this is that rather than using Scripture as ones personal standard, winch necessitates self examination, It focuses our greatest interest on others thru the lens of often inadequately examined personal views.

There is a balancing act between self examination and applying His teachings to one's self and putting the resulting understanding into action in the world around us.

Many of the doctrinal differences are based upon differing understandings of what Scripture is telling us. Other than as His leading requires, He does not need my judgements concerning which are correct.

I have noticed that many unbelievers have used too public arguments among believers as justifying their rejection.

As our Lord observed:

And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
Mark 3:25

looking at the Word of faith Movement just on its Theology, they are in serious heresy concerning nature of God and salvation proper, and in the inspiration of the Bible!

The big problem is that in the name of keeping Unity , many have allowed for Heretics to be right in our midst!

If you invoke the parable of the watchman, then do you also believe a Christian is personally responsible for the sins (iniquity) of those that the Christian fails to preach (whose 'blood I will require at the watchman's hand')?

Or, is this a special enjunction placed upon Ezekiel as a prophet God in the narrowest sense of the title 'prophet'

We love to look at others and be the judge, but when did the Lord ask us to sit at His Judgement seat?

Using the courtroom as a parable, there are many places we may sit (or stand).

We can be the defendant, with Christ as our advocate.
We may be on the witness stand giving testimony.
There may be times when we are the plaintiff, bringing an issue before our Lord.
We may be among the people observing the justice of our Lord.

I know of no point where the Lord says come sit in my seat and render judgement as it seems best to you.

I would love to see cults and their churches) books, dvds or anything , being vetted by some kind of organisation that has some kind of warnings on the cover by law.
It's been done.
It was always administered by limited men.

It led to book burnings and prisons for anyone who wrote anything the judges did not like!

Is there no other way to at least have a warning on the books like a packet of cigarettes?

One can only implement this kind of censorship is where most members of society agree. If that were true, there would be less need.

The Best cure for false teaching is teaching and exhibiting The Truth.

Final Victory for the believer is when he accepts the Lord.

Daily Victory for the believer is in growing in Christ.

Trust in the Lord for Victory over the World in His time.
