Alphabet Soup Garden Varieties

I too have enjoyed time alone. There is great opportunity during these times to draw closer to God, to reflect on many matters, and come to a better awareness of what is important in life.

There is a season for everything, God in his great wisdom knows when we need these times alone and the times with others.

there is power in isolation
feeling with our mind
hearing with our heart
and knowing God
in his glory of strength
like the silence
before a storm
and reveling in it
with a fresh scent
breathing in a renewed
perspective of delight
as though its been
there waiting
for us to find it

Hello thenami;

I love the verbs in your poem, reminding me of God's Whisper.

God bless you, thenami and your family.

Calm before the storm, reminds me of Walking on the beach here in North Wales this morning the sea was so calm and a light refreshing breeze, almost as if God was gently caressing my cheek
Thanks for such lovely pros

Hello Alan Heeley;

May I call you Alan?

You know, when I read poetry or read your post that is poetic, it serves as a type of therapy, giving me a peace and calm.

I have a friend whose family reside in Barry Island and Cardiff, Wales. I've lived in England as a boy but have only heard how beautiful Wales is.

Thank you for sharing and God bless you and your family.

we have peace in the familiar
but life challenges change us
let go of expectations with patience
understanding God is in charge
we might plant a hundred seeds
it is with His sunshine and water
that we too grow and blossom
be still listen and learn quietly
in this winter waiting for spring
and summer will arrive quickly~

We have had three days of sunshine here in North Wales and it has provoked all kinds plants and trees to start to push forth new growth a promise of things to come and a fruitful harvest!
God can show us so much if we only see what we are looking at!

it is the simple things in life that count
they bring me the most happiness of all,

like climbing up on the top of a mount
or dressing special cause life is a ball,

to lick chocolate batter off the bowl sides
and watch the moon as it does slowly rise,

curvy roads through the hills on Harley rides
then stop for ice cream as a small surprise,

the smell of new leather on a damp day
as clouds wish to sing their song of rain,

I love peach glow sunsets over the bay
and all the times when I am not in pain,

but most of all knowing I have great peace
I'll be in heaven when I am deceased~

Its past midnight as I sit here in bed thinking to myself how blessed I am.
Life is good, my daughter's ankle is healing well (thank y'all for the prayers, and thank you Lord).
My son in law is employed, and so am I. My pain levels are at a tolerable level.
The house needs some work, but we are thankful for a place to come home to.
We are well fed, and cared for. The bills are paid most of the time.
My Jeep is still awesome :)

Im very thankful to our Father in heaven in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, for the many blessings I dont deserve.
Might we all remember to be thankful, in the good times, and the bad.
Amen.

Glad to hear it. :)

God's awesome!

we are all children of Christ
with careless and rebellious attitudes
that cause us to sin in this flesh
He is our teacher and we the students
developing a strong mind and heart
giving us wisdom and advice in the scriptures
so we might continue to live and learn
even through the most difficult
or dangerous circumstances
may we trust in Him always
amen

Its past 3am EST and I am wide awake. Arthritis pain is in my right hand tonight, so typing is helping some.
Life with constant pain is what it is; those of us that experience this understand all too well.
Im thinking to myself how nice it would be to plant a variety of cone flowers this year.
Maybe they will make it in the hot sun that seems to bake everything else in my flower bed.
All I have are ideas racing through my mind of what perennials to plant there and try.
My thumb just might be a shade of brown...

Nighty night y'all. Im gonna go read something some where and hope I feel better enough to get some rest.

Totally random

I love my garden and like you am looking forward to seeing my garden in flower after a long , wet winter
Reading your middle of the night thoughts sparked me to think...

Should we only plant where we know the plants will grow and not be affected by the elements?
Or should we plant only plants we like?
Or should we plant them, leave the plants to the elements and move on not investing in the future of the plants?
Or should we plant the plants in our back yard so we are there to nurture and care for them and enjoy the blooms and harvest?
Jesus has some gardening advise in the bible Matthew 13

Question?

Have I dreamt a modern day parable
Or was it the cheese I had for supper?

I could feel the heat you described, as it baked your flowers.
Our garden is still facing morning frost on occasion, the warmth of the sun though during the day is bringing our spring growth.
The hints of spring are everywhere.

Hopefully spring brings more joy to many.

we cannot help others whom choose not to help themselves
but GOD can in the name of his Son Jesus Christ
so we may pray for them to find it within themselves
to want to make the changes they need to be healthy

in this world Jesus came to be a friend
with an open ear and his heart to lend
from heaven our Father he did send
our savior with mankind's sins to mend

I do believe and try to understand
scriptures for everyone across this land
for this earth God did create with his hand
and on his firm foundation I do stand

the holy spirit is a gift in me
paid for with the blood of Christ it is free
he washes sins like sand in the sea
and forgives in prayer on bended knee

there's no greater love will we ever know
from his great sacrifice man he did show
so we could have life again tomorrow
enteral in heaven without sorrow~

there was a cabin in the woods
I stumbled upon like a dream long ago
covered in weeds mold and moss
small trees that had grown inside
a stone chimney crumbled into the dirt
it begged for me to examine it further
I seemed to be momentarily lost anyway
so I camped out for the night

rotten wood floor boards held me
caked in debris from neglect
the small enough fire kept me warm
without smoke filled air as it escaped
through various holes in the rusted roof
it was safe enough for a little while
I did not think anyone would mind
way out where no man had been in years

this cabin was someone's old home
forgotten forsaken renounced disowned
with no recollection of whom when or where
or so I originally believed to myself
as I rested myself on my trusty sleep pad
on an area I swept clean with branches
well checked for spiders snakes and bears
contented for a hidden spell of slumber

daylight faded fast into only a fire that glowed
it was a hungry beast I would not let starve
I remember the view of the stars till it rained
and I was surrounded by a thick muddy mess
stuck inside this place unless I wallowed through it
I decided to remain a while and I cleaned it up some
with all the rain water that filled an old footed tub
in what was once suppose to be a bathroom

it wasnt that bad maybe once a hunters place
I loved on it with careful tenderness
as it revealed many treasures to me
heavy stainless I scrubbed with pebbles
dishes knives blankets clothes all very old
black and white photographs turned to dust
when I tried to look at some in my hand
stained books littered shelves like lost friends

I was always a prepared camper
but my supplies lasted much longer
I found hazel nuts crab apples and berries
when the rain stopped long enough
at this place I borrowed for a visit
where I happily remained to explore
when finally the sun shined bright long enough
and it was time to say goodbye to old place

I found civilization once again
slowly back into town I crept through
no longer a stranger to the deer that wandered
bewildered that I never saw any signs of bear
or mountain lions that lurked quietly
they must have known I was prepared
with eyes on the back of my head
just maybe it was hunting season?

anyway years later I did go back there
and I tried my best to find that cabin
I made a makeshift map on the way out
cause I knew I was kinda lost but not really
when I stumbled on it in the first place
I guess it will have to remain a memory
that was stumbled upon like a dream
in a place maybe only I remember...

(I did leave it as I found it, just cleaner)

sometimes drawing closer means falling down
to the seed of what has been once planted
and remembering when we started to grow
with the fullness of new energies bursting
forth into what is being harvested today
it is never the end it is just the beginning
for what has been gathered and shared
into the combined knowledge that here
can be shared as a harmonious feast
to the hungry souls seeking their own seed
so they too might sow and blossom
for our Father in heaven in the name of His Son
Jesus Christ~ Amen
