Alphabet Soup Garden Varieties

I have a food addiction this I know
as I seem to love edible good things,
from ice cream to that special shop I go
cakes pies muffins the happiness it brings,
favorite places left overs in tow
rare steak at Ruth's Chris is a dinner king!
mashed taters with butter eaten real slow
honey barbecued spicy chicken wings,
everything chocolate will cure any woe
cooking in my kitchen makes my heart sing!
 
recycle reuse rejoice

God made the earth and me
and gave us a will free
even formed that tree
from inside him did he

so take care all of it
recycle bit by bit
reuse some things that sit
wearing Christ a good fit
 
to be thankful daily is my duty
I strive to remember all things in love,
but my human flesh fails regularly
as I have not made it to home above,

one day all this shall come to pass away
we shall all have a new body and name,
given as a gift from our Father
whom art in heaven and His Son the same,

might we rejoice knowing eternal peace
shall belong to us when we leave this place,
as hope keeps most of us going forward
through His merciful forgiveness and grace~

I wonder if in heaven I will dance
floating across a cloud fluffy and white
will I take steps like a deer with a prance
with my heart so full of love shining bright
shall I spin without so much as a glance
and find happiness in my own delight?

are my family and friends waiting there
to come and hold my hand to dance along
in our white robes which we shall all wear
loving Father and Son in praise and song
in one body of Christ with loving care
made purely clean without anything wrong

may I dance in heaven that white
with my heart full of love twinkling bright

commercialism arrives in poinsettias
perfectly placed even in church
ho ho and lets talk about that ho

Ive been regurgitating glitter regularly
right behind peppermint and cacao
with a dash of sprinkled sugar cookies
and pine needles crushing under foot

I wish I could ride a reindeer outta here
and join Santa in the Caribbean
under a bright beach umbrella
and sip margarita sunsets

Hello thenami;

My wife and I were joking how the world should change the name of Christmas to Annual Material Day. It seems the big events are bringing families together, exchange gifts with our closest loved ones, eating, and drinking. Then it's over until the world does it again.

Then we gave thanks to God for His Reason for the Season, gathering to celebrate Jesus' Birthday, singing Carols of His Birth, good fellowship followed by giving and receiving. Then it's never over as we celebrate Jesus every day.

God bless you, always, sister!
 
overindulgent commercialism
forgets the simple things
like clean water and food
a safe dry place to sleep
the availability of firewood
decent clothing with shoes
and thankfulness for them

I am a spoiled American
with electricity running water
a laser blue beauty of a Jeep
my home is nice and clean
there is food air or heat
and I am free to be
a Christian Woman

the noises humans make
I mean think about it

inside of us like breeething
outside of us like clicking keys

around us everywhere
not a moment of silence

I think a silent world
would still be filled with noise

just of a different kind
waiting to make its music

are you a musician
or a mischief maker?
 
His child I am in this world he made
it's one big cathedral for His glory,
in every color shade shape and size
joined to tell His creation story,

from misty rainbows inside waterfalls
to spectacular glowing red sunsets,
rolling mountains blending into clouds
ocean waves filling fisherman's nets,

so why do we continue to pollute
is this not His temple we do deface?
might I conserve more and make less garage
and act like I love my home in this place,

I am thankful for salvation in Christ
let me recycle reuse and rejoice,
and try love the earth more than I do
as I have been gifted freedom of choice~

there they are again another year shopping
you know the ones always in an extreme pace
zooming through like they own the entire chain
a feverish frenzy of fashion meets Im on fire
with that you need to kiss my grits now attitude
cause Im not just any customer yanno right
I have a black card and flaunt it religiously
see see see its right here now ring me up

and the sugar sweet senior southern socialite
whom is fashionably dressed in old clothing
which smells of moth balls and body spray
that has actually come back in style some how
without managing to decay or fade or fray
so very posh polished polite in pearls and petals
with her bless your hearts including false flatteries
when deep down you know they like few souls

theres always funny guys in loose fitting jeans
tight expensive tee shirts with arm candy dangling
on every single word spoken until the grand total
then they go back to being witches on brooms
that must have a kick start and black hat included
with a memorized manual for mechanical responses
which makes me see just how messed up they operate
and remember why the pair are together in the first place

but its the same old story across the American generations
retail therapy is quite the tradition and always has been
for free spending frivolity in a festive usually friendly folly
time goes on as the years melt one into each other
finding happiness in memories and new experiences
sharing gifts of friendship companionship and love
and shopping at the same stores time again
watching people enjoy their piece of the holiday...

been busy working retail
not living the dream... lol
if that was the case
I would already be in heaven
feeling no pain~
 
sometimes my thoughts are like a garden maze
I get lost in the assortment of weeds growing
clouding my original retrospective processes
when I should be simply riding my Craftsman
shaving the grass through finding the way
on the other side of this darn thing already

sometimes the answers are so brilliantly bright
I am humbled quietly into thinking they are nothing
because I know deep in the love of my heart
they are truly a gift from God and not of myself
therefore I choose to enjoy the bounty thereof
taking time to eat dandelion greens drinking the tea

...and I am thankful for when those flowers blossom :)
 
what is with all the crime out in California?
makes me want to scream and holler- uhh
you get an entire years worth in one day
so time for me to be a warrior and pray
 
it seems as though life has situations
that are like a tangled rose bush
the more we try to clip a flower away
we find thorns that prick deeply

almost as though deceived by beauty
in our diligence to fill a vase
forgetting there is an art in doing so
therefore in self-preservation wear gloves

for taking decisive action will prevent
unnecessary injuries in an attempt
to yield a glorious fragrant reward
that fills our hearts with happiness
 
when we lose our way
God sends us a map
and says here we are
I am your compass
open what is closed
for we have been made
to grow softer in time
through experiences
just like the cover
of my now old bible
 
ban anxiety discord impatience
they belong exiled into the past,
experience the joyful happiness
with peaceful heavenly love that will last,

have faith enough to believe what you pray
no matter how long there is a delay~
