Difference Between Fact and Truth?

Yes, a lot of man made, so called 'facts', often turn out to be myths...in which case they were never real facts in the first place.
OTOH, Jesus lived, died, was crucified are facts witnessed by many. But the truth that He died for our sins, is an eternal Truth revealed in His Word.

Truth by its very nature is singular…. in other words, you cannot have two different meanings for one truth. If you feel scripture is saying something to you, and I feel it’s saying something else to me, one of us could be right, but for sure, one of us is wrong, because absolute truth cannot mean two different things; it would be a contradiction of terms.
Truth is not adaptive to opinions nor is it flexible to feelings …it is absolute, what was truth yesterday, is truth today, and will be truth tomorrow; facts can change, but truth remains the same …..always

Yes, some use 'interpretation' as an excuse to not pursue the Truth of Scripture. Nonsense like "Well that may be your interpretation but not mine."
The Scripture has One Author (singular) and it is incumbent on all to seek the INTENDED meaning that the Holy Spirit has given a text.
If it were truly that straight forward, we would not need a list of "Topics the Can Not be Discussed at CFS".
In actuality, much of the teaching in the Word comes from the Spirit interacting with the believer. This is often in a highly personal way, and although the eternal TRUTHs remain constant, our understanding of them are always in terms of our own lives and spiritual journey.
Why do you think we need a list of what not to talk about?????
Now you and everyone else are completely free to disagree with me but I personally think it comes from the inabiity of people today to READ, ACCEPT and FOLLOW the written Word of God. Yes......to me it is just that simple.
By that I mean God says something in His word. Allow me to do one for all of us.

Those 2 Scriptures have caused a war between Christian denominations. WHY????
Because a woman wants to be a church pastor.
A wife says she is called by God to be a Pastor.
A mother wants to be a Pastor, so the husband and child support their wife and mother.
BUT....what did GOD SAY?????
"If a MAN desire the office of a bishop/(Pastor) HE desires a good office".....and....."A bishop must the the HUSBAND of one wife".
I do not post that to debate it or to do the Greek grammar or to post the other 12 translations that say "A MAN", but to show how we read what GOD SAID.......and because "do not like it so we change it to make it fit what we want it to say".
Then instead of talking it over, or discussing, each side becomes angry and confrontational and personal!!!!!!!!
Well, there is the added complication that not all on Christian forums have God's Spirit, but for those who do it is our duty to seek out the intended meaning of the Author, rather than slough off that responsibility with 'oh well, everyone has their own interpretation".

Facts are generally agreed on, but truth is universal and absolute.
When growing up, I used to read a big fat book called 'The Readers Digest Book of Facts'. It just had a lot of random facts in it that I can't much remember anymore except they were short and I would think 'that's interesting' but I didn't know for sure if they were true or not!

I would say its a fact, because its just numbers. Truth goes a bit deeper than numbers and simple equations.

If a number equates to a number then its truth. For example, when someone is earning their paycheck, paying the exact amount of a product or the distance from here to there is all truth.
Biblically speaking, God delights in just weights (honest numbers) and this can be found throughout the Old Testament.
Fact of information can be verified and approved, but fact can always change.
I, personally prefer calculators with Polish notation...

I grew up learning those as facts. Oh well, no wonder I struggled in philosophy. lol
And I grew up struggling with math. lol!
I actually enjoyed reading the other posts defining fact and truth.
