POLITICS HAS REPLACED THE CHURCH!

. I don’t believe in JW’s doctrine…
easy its not jw doctrine that is a insult go ye into all the world is the theme of the great commission

Matthew 28:19-20

King James Version

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

what is teaching ? its passing what you have learned to others/ aka witnessing /testifying. i think your misunderstanding the concept .

American politics has become polarized, so too has the nation’s religious profile. The mainstream Protestant center has hollowed out, its population shrinking dramatically. Today, religious Americans tend to choose their congregation with an eye toward partisanship – to the point where the choice of presidential candidate can lead a voter to move to a new church.

The mainstream denominations have sold out to the leftist culture, which is the reason for their losses. Genuine Christians need places where they can be fed and edified, not places where they're taught to placate the unholy society around them.

Actions can speak louder than words, but the problem is that the Gospel, (which is what the Church is to be about), is a proclamation of words.
Just look back to recent well known preachers who ruined their lives with actions contrary to their words.............
Ted Haggard...............homosexual affairs and meth user.
Jim Baker..................... sexual abuse and fraud, rape.
Bill Gothard.................30 women accused him of sexual harassment, inappropriate touching, molestation, and rape.
Tony Alamo -..............( more a cult leader than a Christian)
Bob Coy.........................multiple affairs and a pornography addiction.
Dave Reynolds............child pornography
Doug Phillips...............sexual abuse of a 15 year old girl
Jimmy Swaggert.........affair with a prostitute and pornography
Robert Tilton................investigation found prayer requests in garbage, but he kept checks, money orders, and cash for himself.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. You can have the best words but if your lived experience does not mesh with your words then it's worse than nothing since it is hypocrisy and actively turns people away.

We must all focus on our own house first. Only once that is in order can he focus on others. That said, there is redemption for the contrite. It's OK to fail as long as you acknowledge your failure and make amends.

This all may be true but who is saved by our actions without a Gospel?

Romans 10:17 NASB95
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

Romans 10:14
How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?

Of course No one! But the point is that actions are important as well. All of those men had the gospel. They preached the gospel. However, their actions destroyed their words!

It's a pejorative expression referring to brainwashed teenagers going back to the days of the anti-war movement. No one under the age of 25 has a fully developed brain. Why allow people only 18 years old to participate in the extremely serious election process?

Hm. Probably for the same reason 18-year-olds can enlist in the military and die in combat??

"Researchers say the 2022 election had the second highest voter turnout [27%] among voters under 30 in at least the past three decades. So far, the highest turnout during a midterm for this voting bloc is 2018 when about 31% of young people who are eligible to vote cast a ballot." (see: https://www.npr.org/2022/11/10/1135810302/turnout-among-young-voters-was-the-second-highest-for-a-midterm-in-past-30-years#:~:text=Young voter turnout was second,in past 30 years : NPR&text=Hip-Hop 50-,Young voter turnout was second-highest for midterm elections in,according to an early estimate.)
why because at 18 you should be out of school and able to stand on your own 2 feet. at 18 you can be drafted sent to the frontlines to soon become hamburger meet . the problem is not the age part of it could be in the raising. not very many of us had sense enough get in out of the rain at 18. ive seen 25 year old bad as 16 year old

My late Grandfather was a chief petty officer and fought in World War II. Dad was deployed to Vietnam in 1968 and 1972 while I was growing up.

As a Christian babe I was grounded in the church up to 18 years of age. In 1975 on my 18th birthday I registered for the draft but for some reason I was 4F. So I went back again and took the Armed Forces test and failed.

I was bruised from failing to go into the military. I was back at church the next Sunday and continued college. On my 19th birthday I voted for the first time in 1976 as a Democrat and didn't know the difference between parties. In 1980 I switched to Republican.

In the church and my faith, being born in America didn't lead me to analyze being an American and have always supported my country. In 1976 the Vietnamese refugees who were in the camps at Camp Pendleton settled in the community. On Sundays while I was playing on the worship team the refugees started attending our church.

I heard the refugees were mixed with either South Vietnamese or escaped communist or VietCong. The communities didn't know whether to trust them, religiously or politically.

Following my pastor's lead, we loved them in church, guided them to get involved in discipleship, and helped them enroll in school or find a job. It was challenging and at times unsuccessful but the ministry got done.

Through the ages where we are now, the political trends and leaders have escalated and become more suspect. Soon the verbal, internet and reality came about. In these times I feel if our country is invaded, whether I was 18 or 25 I may shoot the individual from America because I don't know whose side they're on.

So how do I reconcile this at 66 years of age? Politics separate from the church was a natural for me. My faith trumps politics. My faith has molded me in who I am today and my God will continue to build me up in ALL THINGS for the future.

We cannot tackle politics if we aren't tackling our faith in Christ, first.

Love in Christ.

I traced this back to post #167 where LTG said,
"think this is the key. People ignore our words but they see our actions and learn from them."

My point is that if they 'ignore our words', then there is no hope for them, no matter how well or ill behaved we are.

We're kinda getting fast 'n loose with language here. What I mean is it's not enough to simply talk to people. You need to demonstrate by example and in the process build respect. Only then can you speak, since only then will the other person be receptive to listening.

Agreed.

In other words.........talk is cheep!

Bob...........My whole point is that way too many people now follow what their Political party states more than they do what God has stated in His word.

The Democratic party has in its Political Platform, ( a document stating the aims and principles of a political party) that abortion is a right that is allowed to women up the point of birth. Now that has been overturned and now is up to each individual state, but the fact is that it is written in their platform.

Now.......how can a truly born again believer vote for any person who is for the killing of babies when the Word of God says............
"“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
(Jere. 1:5)
Ex. 20:13........
"“You shall not murder."

But, year in and year old, the "Church" votes for people (Mr. Biden) who are pro-abortion!

That means that the "Church" thinks more about politics that obeying the Word of God!

That was my point! Politic has replaced the Church!

Now, we can also say the same thing about homosexual rights and gender choices!

Do you think Jesus earned the respect you speak of as they were crucifying Him? Jesus talked the talk and walked the walk.

John 15:18 BSB
If the world hates you, understand that it hated Me first.

The world hates the Gospel message, period. They'd rather solve the world's ills through politics.
