Man it can be frustrating!!

Working with URL's (links) and computer code I mean! I shifted the positions of 3 simple lines in my Sig. That's all - and everything looked fine!

Then tonight I discover that just by shifting the lines that managed to wipe out the links to TWO of the THREE lines!!!

So in to have a look at the code. Yup, two lots gone. Figure out how to put the link back in the right place in the code (rather than start again) - well lookit dat, now they all work again. Would I be permitted a short 'grrrr'??

MEETING IN SILVER FERN GULLY

Barn owl was pacing round in ever-decreasing circles muttering, "What to do? What to do?" Mrs Barn Owl gently admonished, "If you don't settle you'll do yourself a mischief, dear." Owl stopped, looked surprised, then said, "You're quite right, my love!"

Rock Wallaby spoke up, "Do we actually know why some of our bush animals and birds aren't reading some recent Life-Letters?" **

Platypus had just arrived from his nearby pool, and before Owl could answer, broke in to enquire, "Is Rainbow Lorikeet still doing the delivery?"

"Yes," Owl said, "and I don't know any faster parrot in the Australian bush to get things into people's Life-Letter box."

It was Emu's turn to speak. "You haven't been forgetting to put the brief summary on the back of the Life-letters I don't suppose?"

"No," Owl replied, "but I'm starting to wonder if maybe that's part of the problem."

"But how could that be?" Emu asked

"What I'm thinking is maybe they're reading that, then deciding they don't want to open the Letter."

"But that doesn't really make sense," observed Ringtail Possum in a gentle voice, "because how else will they learn all the Truths from the Life-Book of the Great High King?"

A tiny Brown Honeyeater from the branch of a small Eucalypt tree spoke in it's melodious voice, "When I read the last few Life-Letters I did wonder if there may be a few not totally comfortable with some of the words and pictures..."

A chorus of voices expressed surprise and shock at this news! Finally Barn Own sighed, "I think maybe you're right Honeyeater. I admit that I did wonder when I was preparing the Letters..." he trailed off.

"WHY!" asked Spiny Anteater in a gruff voice.

"Well," said Owl, "not all our people want to hear about things that may upset them, or that may need them to do something a little different." He held up his hand to shush the voices raised in protest. "We must understand that various emotions can effect how much we want to always please our Great High King," he finished.

"WHY!" asked Anteater again, his sharp spines seeming to stand out even more than usual.

"What I believe is that the Dark Dingo is able to somehow affect their minds in ways we can't quite understand, but it seems that he can get folks to put their own feelings ahead of honouring our King."

Kangaroo spoke for the first time. "But that would affect their Rewards when they get to EverLand, so isn't that a little short-sighted?"

"We're all different," Owl observed wisely, "but I agree that ultimately it really is against the very best for them!"

"So is there anything we can do?" Mrs Owl asked.

"I think that we should join together in a request to the Great High King for help for each one of them." There was an immediate chorus of agreement, and that's just what they did!

Hey, I think I understand what you were talking about in that last post. Anyway, I've been reading your messages and am up to 28 about the Holy Spirit. I have also been reading the N.T. a lot recently. It's really been good. But, I'm afraid I understand now that dh may not be one of the ones to ever realize or understand God's love for him. He does not want to grow on his own. He seems to want me to now, but doesn't believe it's for him. It's sad, but it's possible.

On the other hand, I've really been enjoying reading the old messages. Hang in there, Bro. Hugz, Bonnie

Still Alive in Batavia

Hi all,
It has been awhile. The good Lord is really keeping me busy. With my position as Public Relations Director with Care-A-Van, my job, my kids and such, it has been crazy!

Just want you to know I will be out of commission for a bit. The ministry team leaves at 7 AM on Sunday to head to NY city.. grab a seat Bondman for you and the Mrs! going to be an exciting time!

Last week we took the bus to a church about an hour away that supports us financially.. my first official road trip with. Tonight we got invited back to the same community for a spring banquet with a Ministry called Christian Youth Corps.. amazing ministry!

Paul gave the man a check for a donation when we arrived, but then he came back and asked Paul to present it publicly.. well guess what .. Paul said the PR woman would present and speak.. So I did. Awesome night, kids did a skit.. talks by a local Pastor.. and at the end... yep you guessed it.. the spirit was stirring in my soul..

Right before they ended I said excuse me..
I then stood and gave a brief testimony to all with tears streaming.. saying how I headed down the wrong path.. destroyed the relationships with my kids.. I shared the importance of a spirtitual foundation for families and of course.. shared with the young women for Jesus to be their Mr. Right! I shared how Jesus saved me! So Bondman.. you and the Mrs. were in Machias NY tonight! Beautiful setting.. at a church retreat center with lake and little cabins.. so cozy!

I have been invited to help with a young women's retreat for the organization.. They also are in the process of being blessed with a huge parcel of land with buildings and all! Amazing!

Alright.. now mind you I said I stood up and spoke.. it was Christ that stood up and spoke.

ok.. I got to get to bed.. it is 1 am here and I got to get up at 7 to head to the streets here locally.. then got to pack for the big trip.

I love serving our Lord!

Oh and Bonnie I know exactly how you feel.. I see several close folks to me that are just not getting it.. some days I get a bit tired and frustrated.. I can just imagine how hard it must be with the dh.

You will be at street church Sunday evening, the Hope Center in Elizabeth NJ on Monday, you will be walking the streets in the Bronx on Tuesday and ending the trip with a 3 hour prayer service on Wednesday.. then get comfy again for the 9 hour trip home..

Please pray for a safe trip for Care-A-Van and that the Lord will prepare the lost souls he wants us to reach.

Wow, that's all exciting what you're doing, hon! This might sound a bit strange but I reckon you're on a winner by reading the NT AND reading IR Messages from the NT. I couldn't be more pleased that this is WORKING for you - hey, that really is what it's all about!!!

Yeah, that's sad about dh, tho not exactly surprising. We ALL have to make thechoice, and many will make what is ultimately the wrong one! We can't MAKE people want to be with God forever - it's the individual's free choice that He allows them to make... Just keep caring about and for him.

Hey I bin wonderin' why I've been a bit exahusted lately... Now I know! - it's all of this out and about round Batavia - like Machias and all these new places!!! We seem to go here and go there, and it's all rather amazing stuff I must say!! Mind you THE mind-boggler will be walking in the streets of the Bronx!!! Goodness....

I'll make sure that Gertruda batteries are fully charged for this 9 hr trip, okay. And at least there'll be no expenses for petrol (or 'gas' as you guys call it!)

Loved the great experiences you've been having and the places you've gone to. "I love serving our Lord!" Hey, guess what? ME TOO!!!

Reaching Higher #12​

I Bought a New Watch! - Part 5​

... Continued from Part 4 "Our Personal Journey Towards Becoming Less Worldly". Part 1 is here.

This is what I hope may be an encouragement Message about how our Attitude may control and even eliminate our worldliness! I apologise for talking about us again, but one of the major aims of this thread IS TO LEARN and GROW, and I believe it will help you do this! I can tell you that we both are: "Praise You, Lord!"

If you read RH Message #10 you'll know how my watch band broke, but Beloved sewing it back up saved us having to spend $25 for a new one. Well the sewing gave way didn't it, and so she then used another method. But next the plastic holding the band started to break off and so that was the ballgame, wasn't it!...

Okay, we decided to look at better quality to see what was available. Long story short I got an amazing new digital watch just like I need, for a crazy price (nearly half off!) that should easily outlast 3 of the cheaper ones. It seems to be state of the art with a solar cell keeping the watch going! It keeps power up even charging entirely from interior lighting! In fact I read that a full charge lasts for 6 months! It automatically turns off the whole face display of the watch when in the dark for any period of time. Turn a light on and back it all comes like magic!

Enough of that! How do I really FEEL about my new watch? Well because of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome my tired eyes need digital so I can see (read) the time. So that's good. For the same reason I need day and date, clear enough to read because I can't remember dates, etc. This watch does it all - everything I need! Yes, I feel really good about that, and of course having a NEW rather fancy watch like this is really great!

So aren't I really being worldly and self-centered here? Wasn't the truth that I really DID want a better watch, same as - like the world around us - we want a better car, better furniture, dearer clothes, etc., etc. No, the decision to go dearer was a practical one: it should last longer without falling to bits and having to throw it away before it should be, no batteries needed, shouldn't cost any more over time, but even save a little.

But the crunch question to SHOW that OUR ATTITUDE is what it's all about is: if for some reason I had to give up the watch TODAY would I have feelings of loss or upset or similar? No, I wouldn't! It's just A THING! Come and take it from me right now, and it wouldn't matter one bit. THAT'S the right attitude (one that GOD has brought us to, i.e., NOT DONE IN OUR STRENGTH ALONE). Furthermore, it's the test you can use for becoming less worldly! Then one further great test to use is this: would I give it away to someone whose NEED for it was greater than mine? Yes, I would!

It may occur to you that without changing ANYTHING as to your actual possessions and life-style, YOU CAN STILL BECOME UNWORLDLY! HOW? - BY CHANGING YOUR ATTITUDE TO YOUR RICHES! Thus it IS POSSIBLE to actually be REALLY RICH, yet still UNWORLDLY (Jesus warned strongly that this is difficult, but it IS possible).

Because I DO understand the difficulties of this SO IMPORTANT MATTER of becoming less worldly, I hope some of this may have helped you a little!

I have someone from here in the Inner Room who I need special prayer for. She is currently in pretty bad shape in her spirit, and the need is for her to get seriously born again with quite a deal of deep work needed for this to happen.

I'm totally confident it can and will happen - with your prayer help! I'll keep you posted, and you can get ready for some REJOICING when that time comes!

On a rather different note, I'm truly saddened about those who read here, but who have skipped recent specific, but quite important Messages. Whatever your reasons, I SO wish you hadn't...

But we all have freewill as God's gift to us! I've done as much as I can to help in this particular area, can't do more, and so it's time for us to press on. Hopefully you may be able to come BACK to them in due course. That's my prayer for you, anyway!

So now we go on to add giving to simple living, and I will be showing you just how WONDERFUL as well as EASY the first of those truly is!

HOW TO BE CERTAIN GOD IS WITH YOU

It seems that God may on occasion "go away from" even sincere Christian Believers! And when this happens it can be quite devastating to them!! "Why?" we ask. "Where are you Lord? Why have you left me all alone?" Happened to me when I was in bed ill for 3 years. The LAST THING I needed was for Him to suddenly not be there!!

UNRELIABLE FEELINGS

I think most of us know that FEELINGS are very unreliable when it comes to our Christian walk. They can go up and down with really nothing to do with what's actually true - a very NORMAL human experience! So here's the important question: is "God being away" simply a problem of our feelings? Well I'm sure that feelings are involved, but my answer is that no, I don't think this is true.

I can think of at least three important reasons why "God suddenly goes off" (on a holiday, perhaps? - that's sure what it FEELS like! *broad grin*) First, I believe He may be wanting to teach us that feelings really CANNOT be trusted. We may well be having the temptation of being 'up and down' Christians because of taking too much notice of how we feel. Fact is that: THINGS THAT ARE TRUE ARE TRUE!! - nothing to do with our feelings whatsoever!

WHAT BOTH THE FATHER AND JESUS HAVE SAID

Second, I believe He may be wanting to teach us that when He makes a promise HE KEEPS IT - ALWAYS - NO EXCEPTIONS!!! What's His promise then? Here's one that I really, really love! John Ch 14:23 Jesus answered, If a person [really] loves Me, he will keep My word [obey My teaching]; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home (abode, special dwelling place) with him. Amplified Bible (enhancements mine).

I love it because it's 'a double-bunger'. You get the Father AND Jesus BOTH PROMISED TO MAKE THEIR HOME WITH... YOU!!! Can you handle that? - I sure can!! But there's more: Hebrews Ch 13:5b ... For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." The promise from God written here in the New Testament is REPEATED from not one, not two, but THREE places in the Old Testament! Wow!!

GRAB THE ASTONISHING PROMISE OF THIS VERSE!

But that translation from the New King James doesn't give anywhere near the full meaning that's in the Greek text. Here's one of the reasons I love the Amplified Bible so much and recommend that everyone at least has a New Testament of it: Hebrews Ch 13:5b ... for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!] (Enhancements - underlining and bolding only - are mine)

Get a strong GRIP of all of that!!! The reason for the 3 repetitions of "I will NOT" is that there are THREE negatives in the Greek, giving us this POWERFUL ASSURANCE THAT GOD IS ALWAYS WITH US, WILL NOT EVER LEAVE US!!!!! - no matter WHAT you're FEELING!!! Third reason for His "awayness": to teach us to TRUST!! These are lessons that God is bringing to us whenever we feel bereft, as if He's not there. HE ALWAYS IS! But how can we be ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN OF THIS - BECAUSE HE SAYS SO!!! Bless you each one with this certainty!!

SCRIPTURE (9) - IMPROVE YOUR DAILY WALK WITH ALL OF THESE!

Philippians Ch 4:6 Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, continue to make your (definite) requests known to God.

1. Don't be WORRIED about ANYTHING!!! Don't be concerned, don't be anxious or freaked out.

2. PRAY in ALL situations and in ALL circumstances - in fact pray about and for EVERYTHING!!!

3. Pray, bringing your DEFINITE REQUESTS to God. (This may have been what Fluffy was thinking of in Post #1289.)

4. Pray always with THANKYOUS and THANKSGIVING to the Lord!!! (do we really DO this??)

5. Keep praying, i.e., CONTINUE to pray, and don't STOP.

6. Pray for your NEEDS (NOT your wants: they are almost inevitably selfish, sinful, worldly),making your REQUESTS clearly known to a very, very gracious God!!

I was into Wicca once too, with my friend. My friend is a white witch now in Oregon, and has changed her name. But, I was only into it for the "fun" of it, my friend was really serious about it. There were a lot of things I learned in Wicca that drew me to the cult I came out of - Mormonism. But, do you think just by entertaining Wiccan practices there is a danger even after you've gotten out of it and have become a Christian, Fluff?
