Im Getting Discouraged : /

For a while.. I've been thinking. .. what's the point.

Last Sunday I think my pastor pointed out I was being religious. Which I agree, reading ( which I rarely do now) and praying and going to church can become routine when you lose your zeal.

She went to Rev ch 2, you know the church of Ephesus. .. they worked diligently and patiently....and Jesus himself warned that He'd remove their lampstand if they didn't turn back to their first love.

And it made me feel like..whats the point, if my best is religious?
I've tried to talk to God and chase Him ...but He rarely talks back..its a onesided relationship. ...
Yet my other members who left our church...hear Him crystal clear..

And are blessed by Him

Idk, it seems so backwards. .. I want to talk to God more than He wants to talk to me ..but He just won't. ..and Im tired of chasing someone who ignores me. : /

And, My life doesn't display His fruits...you know in Galatians...
I don't know what to do ..bc only God can bear the fruit..yet I can't hear Him...in someways I feel damned already...

Its so unfair I want to change but HE won't do it... idk Im just frustrated. .. and discouraged and want to give up.

= <

It just annoys me bc my members who left our church seem blessed financial and spiritual. ... and I can't even hear the man , and feel like im on the path to hell instead of heaven.

There's nothing different abt me, compared to other pll, i just don't uunderstand it... I want to change but He just won't do it.

Holy Spirit speaks the clearest through the scriptures. Spending time with Him daily, and uninterrupted, asking Him to meet with you and to speak, and keeping a journal of every word He speaks will reveal to you that God is most definitely silent concerning you. He is so on love with you and wants so much to converse with you!

Get alone with God with your Bible and play some worship music, and deliberately sit in silence anticipating that God will speak to your heart. Whatever He says, write it down. I know He will! He loves a waiting expectant heart!

It isn't a one sided relationship though! He wakes you up every morning and keeps you safe during the day! And when night time comes He makes you sleepy so that you can dream and rest for another day!

I know it's tough because I'm always in a similar situation. I feel that I don't get the experiences I want with Him like my wife and her family does, but I have to be happy with what I'm given because I don't deserve anything at all. I don't deserve to be in His presence or even know Him, but He has saved me anyway.

Keep your faith sister, and you will be rewarded. Don't let the devil tempt you into believing God doesn't care because He hand crafted you to be who you are. You are His child, and even when He feels far away He is still with you.

*Edit*
Read the Gospels again. Read them and read them and reread them. Jesus was thinking of you while hanging on that cross. That is how much He loves you!

You're right hunting.. esp abt being happy with what I've been given...
Its just hard when God seems to freely lavish Himself on some. With out limit o.o
It makes me quite jealous.

Please accept my apology for not proofing my post! Let me make this amendment:

"Spending time with Him daily, and uninterrupted, asking Him to meet with you and to speak, and keeping a journal of every word He speaks will reveal to you that God is most definitely NOT silent concerning you. He is so in love with you and wants so much to converse with you!"

Blessings!

I know that's difficult. I'm currently in a situation where my friend, who also left the police department, is now making a bunch of money and I'm making just a little over minimum wage. The dude isn't even a Christian and things seem to be going his way! But, I am thankful I have a job. I have to dwell on the positive or I'll kill myself. :)

I know it's tough sister, but do not waiver, the Lord truly loves you! The enemy would love nothing more then for you to start doubting and separating yourself from God. Why doubt, the Lord does not doubt you! Sometimes it's difficult for us to figure out exactly what the Lord has in store for us, but stay confident that He indeed has a purpose. Pour your heart out to Him, draw near unto Him and he will drawn near unto you (James 4:8). I get whispers of doubt often from that sick twisted devil; I just smile and rebuke those thoughts in Jesus' name and they cease. In any case, I will say a prayer for you :)

Please hear me out, cuz this isn't going to be easy, I want you to know I'm saying this in love with concern for what is best for my sister in Christ.

Here is what I see, others left the church and are being blessed, ..why did they leave the church?

And I take it your pastor is a woman, that goes against the teachings of Paul, could it be those that have left have left for this reason and could it be the Lord has already spoken to you and He is wanting you to leave and become a member of a church that is Scripturally correct, ...and that is the reason for His silence, ...please understand I'm not a chauvinist or against women in the ministry, but the office of pastor and elders are to be men and that's not me that said that, but Paul writing through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

If you are passing through a time of chastening I can assure you it's because you are a child of God and He is refining you to become more like His Son Jesus, remember sis, condemnation comes from the devil, i.e., ...you say you are a Christian, look what you did, or do you really think you are going to Heaven, ...whereas the Holy Spirit is the Comforter, He convicts us of the areas in our lives He wants to change, but always with love and comfort and His conviction in love gives us the desire to repent because of His love for us.

Also, we walk by faith and not by feelings because the enemy of our souls loves to play with our emotions, ...Jesus said He would never leave us or forsake us, appropriate that promise, by faith, into your life, Jesus is inside of us in the Person of the Holy Spirit and it will be that way for all of Eternity, here are some scientific facts that might help you to understand this, ...if we were to take the nucleus of an atom and blow it up to the size of a basket ball and that nucleus were in Los Angeles then the closest electron would be on the East Coast, that's a lot of space between, so it is with us, we are made up of atoms, so the Holy Spirit is living in that empty space, hence the Kingdom of Heaven is in your midst, so we can understand how the promise of Jesus is fulfilled, ...He will never leave us or forsake us.

I hope you can see, in faith, He hasn't left you,

In His Love and be blessed,

Gene

Perhaps you should do the same...perhaps (and I do not know) the Holy Spirit is NOT in that place...maybe the pastor is a store bought, seminary trained, but not anointed Pastor (I knew one Lutheran Priest named Michael who admitted after much discussion that he never knew God and that this was just a good vocation...helping others and such)...his earthly father was brutal and eventually abandoned the family, maybe that was at the core of the problem with his lack of trust in our Heavenly Father...I do not know...but he was not a spirit filled believer born from above...he could not accept Jesus healings as real or the bodily resurrection...just a thought

This will not get a lot of positive response, but Gene is absolutely correct. We do not want to hear this but the Bible does not direct Pastors to be women. I felt as did Gene that when I read your words about others leaving that it might just be the reason they left, and it just maybe that what you are experiencing is God speaking to you. God speaks to our consciousness an it know the right and wrong of situations.

Our conscious is the compass of our soul and it is the thing that keeps us awake at night. It is that inner voice that tells us we are going the wrong way. Do not worry about God speaking or not speaking to you, from what I am hearing from you......
He is yelling into your ear!!!!!!!!

Please do not take just our word on this. You my child read 1 and 2nd Timothy and also Titus. Paul gives clear and distinct directions on who can be ordained deacons and pastors.

God doesn't say one word about women not being pastors, especially when you understand what pastoring really is. Holy Spirit doesn't check the plumbing before He blesses a person with the gift of pastor....the Greek term being, 'poimen' which means shepherd or overseer. The spiritual gift of pastor is directly linked to the gift of teaching in Ephesians 4:11.

Jeremiah 3:15; Acts 20:28; John 10:11-18.

"God doesn't say one word about women not being pastors,"

I'm sorry to have to say this, but in humility and love I must disagree, first may I say I have read many of your posts and I know you have been taught by the Holy Spirit, but it's clear from New Testament doctrine the office of pastor is a gift given by the Lord and it is given to men.

The word overseer is used once in the New Testament, in Acts 20:28 and the word in the Greek is episkopos, the same word Paul uses to explain the requirements for what we call today bishops or elders,

This is a true saying, If a man desires the office of a bishop, he desires a good work. 1Ti 3:1

and,

For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou should set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee: If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly. For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; Tit 1:5-7

There are verses, ordained by God, about men being pastors and there is a verse, ordained by God, that forbids women to hold the office of pastor,

But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 1Ti 2:12

As you have stated, teaching is linked to pastoring I hope you can see that Paul teaches that any woman that is in the office of pastor and teaching is usurping that authority from the man the Lord has given the gift to, the word authenteō is used for to usurp authority over and Strong's definition is to act of oneself, clearly showing/stating that a woman pastor is ordained by/from herself and it's not a gift from the Lord.

When he (Jesus) ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. Eph 4:8

The gifts being,

And he (Jesus) gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; Eph 4:11

I'm sorry for the hijack Pancakes, but this needed to be dealt with from the Word.

Blessings,

Gene
