Panhandling Everywhere

I meditate and avoid watching the news. How about you?
we need have a idea what is going on around us.. i know people who keep the t.v tuned to fox news or cnn.. my self i read the news and that is more than enough for me . i am actually getting tired on the trump news. which is politics at its best

So here in the Wales this is what happens to our young people who come out of care.. ( most have mental issues and are vulnerable)

Basic income is now being giving to young people that come out of care, something like 16000 a month after tax for 2 years. Finland dumped their scheme because it didn't work and are now back to encouraging them to take up work and training.

why do governments who have seen another country fail think they can do it too ?

beyond me. but its costing us 20 million☹️
There has been talk of that in California. Problem is they cant afford it so the fed, aka american tax payers, will end up footing the bill.

what you don't bother to pray?

what do you meditate on?

I had a colleague come in take stress leave from her job she was so upset that 'the powers' were going to downgrade it. She had joined the union (even though normally she's against joining unions) to fight what they were doing. She's a great librarian.

If she leaves her job it's not just her but 1000 students will miss out on literacy.

making librarians homeless and abusing them is not on. Not paying them enough to live on is wrong too. Its not like we are living in 6 bedroom mansions with enough storage space to fit 4 cars in.

I said I would write to powers that be and testify or recommend her. She was going to my boss (her former boss) for a reference she should have done 3 years ago.

Actually I am not supposed to say anything because it would make her school look bad. But it's not the school its the people running the school who have no clue. That is always the issue with management. They have power and they abuse it.

We have a whakatauki *proverb in Maori that is often quoted.

What is the most important thing in the world?
He tangata, he tangata he tangata ; It is people, it is people it is people.

When we work, we get called 'human resources' because we aren't robots or machines. A lot of what we do is give work the human touch which is so important in schools - because we learn from each other. It's not the building itself or the running costs or operation. It's the people that make the organisation work.

Today, people at the top in their fancy homes treasure their own fancy homes more than the people. Their attitude is 'if they can't afford a fancy home...too bad! '

This happened in the Bible. The Temple Solomon built cost so much that for years after it it crippled the nation with taxes for its upkeep. Royalty was living in the lap of luxury when everyone else was starving.

Our schools here gave up on libraries a while ago. They have "media centers" which is all digital. A bunch of computers, printers, and an endless supply of digital stuff.

I have not been in a public library in years. The last time I went to one, which was actually to meet and interview someone, it appeared that the only people there were there to use a computer.

We call people "human capital."

You do appear to have an issue with people who are financially well off. Not everyone that is well off also enjoy watching others live in cardboard boxes. Aside from those born with a silver spoon in their mouths, most well-off people work hard for their sucess.

Well I have just watched the story of Joseph. One could say he was homeless slave and made to work for a living. But instead of griping he actually put a lot of effort in his work and worked his way up.
But our country is soft on the work shy.

I’m pretty sure in them days they wasn’t treated as good as today.

It’s an inspiring story and full of success.

Panhandlers mustn’t realise they are sitting on a goldmine if only they believed.

No welfare or entitled mentality back then.

Thats a problem here in the U.S. as well. The takers are about to outnumber those who work and support the "entitled".

My glove compartment is not that large :)

Ray

No. Actually, they are zip-lock bags with just a few items, such as a Bible tract, tiny tube of toothpaste and a tooth brush, a full body wash packet with all-natural ingredients for cleansing and aloe for skin care, a couple of food bars and a small bottle of water. For winter we also put in a pair of gloves and a toboggan cap for warmth. It fills the zip lock, but takes very little room to just have a couple of those with us.

I work for a lady who is a millionaire. Fancy house x 3. She is so generous and actually gave me a key to her home. She lets me stay for free when I want.

Most millionaires you wouldn’t guess they were one. She is just so normal.

Some millionaires are rude. My daughter worked for one and he was obnoxious.

I suppose it depends on how much pride they have.

Maybe they are still immature.

I would love to relocate to Monaco and work for the super rich. I’d love to be like Joseph and run the show😇

Hello Via;

By chance was Paul Mercurio the actor who played Joseph? Was Ben Kingsley who played Potifar also in the movie?

I have this 1995 movie version of The Story of Joseph.

What do you mean by "our country is soft on the work shy?"

God bless you, sister.

I can't speak of her meaning, but it is an issue.

Have you heard of the new called "quiet quitting?" As another issue, many people are now demanding the ability to work from home and not in an office setting. I read an article this morning on a guy who worked for a company that wanted him to come to the office twice a month and he decided to resign instead.

Our district spent months looking for a new Deputy Chief Auditor. The best candidate we had was offered a salary of $160,000 a year, but he turned it down once he learned that he could not work remotely. Don't sure if this is "soft," but it is something.

Hello Ray;

When I read your post it reminded me of the love and labor for God in the Bible. Joseph had this zeal and he got it from his father Jacob.

In Genesis 29:1, Then Jacob went on his journey and came to the land of the people of the east. - AmpC

This was a long journey on foot. In the Amplified Jacob walked [briskly and cheerfully] on his way [400 miles]. He loved God and followed His plan. Jacob would return to the land of his mother Rebekah and his grandfather Abraham but also would meet his future wife Rachel who would give birth to Joseph.

Jacob and Joseph worked hard in extreme conditions. Their salaries were not a lot and it was not the deal breaker, but an amazing story how God provided so much beyond the salary. These two loved and labored for God who would reward them in His time.

The gentleman who turned down the $160k annual salary would not have been content in the future even if he could work at home or was paid more. I don't know if you filled the position but if not yet, it could be waiting for the right candidate who will give more heart in his/her performance.

God bless you, Ray.

No it wasn’t that movie. But I will check that one out. It sounds good I like Ben Kingsley.

Our country government dosent care about long term unemployed people.
They give them money and even extras… but anyone who is newly employed, you better be working by next week.

Rays post hits home.
No one wants to work today.
Not in an office anyhow.
People like being their own boss today.
They like having their own business.
They don’t like the stress of working for what they call “toxic work environments”

Yes, we ended up promoting someone already in the organization.
Bless you to, my friend.

Non-productive government people always think they can do something better than it was done in the past. The Democrats here on the US think they can make socialism work, even though it has failed every time in the past that it was attempted. Venezuela is just the most recent example of a failed socialistic/fascist attempt at success that just didn't work....again!

Many professions have a down-side to them in how they affect those within them. Politics seems to affect almost everyone in them in negative ways, especially those who go into that job with no grounding in morals, and especially those who have no worthwhile character, like the guy in the Whitehouse right now. I watched a 1987 clip where he stated he was dropping from the race back then because of his plagiarism, and also lying about his academic record, when he stated to the public that he went to university with a full scholarship when he actually only had half, and allegedly graduated with three degrees in the top ten percent of his class, when in fact it was found that he graduated 78th out of 84, and had only one degree (Underwater Basket Weaving :D).

At least Nobama learned the lesson by having his academic records sealed from the public, and a fake birth certificate made after his aunt claimed that she had held him as a new-born baby in Africa. She, of course, died mysteriously soon after admitting that publicly....

The Lord has quite a mess to sort out in the Judgement.
