Panhandling Everywhere

I work for a lady who is a millionaire. Fancy house x 3. She is so generous and actually gave me a key to her home. She lets me stay for free when I want.

Most millionaires you wouldn’t guess they were one. She is just so normal.

Some millionaires are rude. My daughter worked for one and he was obnoxious.

I suppose it depends on how much pride they have.

Maybe they are still immature.

I would love to relocate to Monaco and work for the super rich. I’d love to be like Joseph and run the show😇

That would be a great opportunity for you to minister to them.

Non-productive government people always think they can do something better than it was done in the past. The Democrats here on the US think they can make socialism work, even though it has failed every time in the past that it was attempted. Venezuela is just the most recent example of a failed socialistic/fascist attempt at success that just didn't work....again!

Many professions have a down-side to them in how they affect those within them. Politics seems to affect almost everyone in them in negative ways, especially those who go into that job with no grounding in morals, and especially those who have no worthwhile character, like the guy in the Whitehouse right now. I watched a 1987 clip where he stated he was dropping from the race back then because of his plagiarism, and also lying about his academic record, when he stated to the public that he went to university with a full scholarship when he actually only had half, and allegedly graduated with three degrees in the top ten percent of his class, when in fact it was found that he graduated 78th out of 84, and had only one degree (Underwater Basket Weaving :D).

At least Nobama learned the lesson by having his academic records sealed from the public, and a fake birth certificate made after his aunt claimed that she had held him as a new-born baby in Africa. She, of course, died mysteriously soon after admitting that publicly....

The Lord has quite a mess to sort out in the Judgement.

Promise the lemmings free stuff and permissiveness, throw in some illegitimate votes and here we are.

It's a tough call when people abuse the generosity of others. I have a gospel-centered homeless shelter I give to when I can. They do a good job.
I had the most insane thing happen last week.

Last week, I took my office to lunch. It's 7 people and we went to this small Italian restaurant across the street from the office. My secretary, who has been with us only a couple of months, ordered her lunch and then ordered two additional lunches to take with her. I had not noticed, since I was sitting on the other end, but another person brought it to my attention later on in the day. Apparently, the other two lunches were for her husband and daughter, that she took home to feed them after work.

No, I did not mention it to her.

why is that insane
She's feeding her family. This is normal. Thats what wives/mums do.

Today I found there was a comic book shop up for sale (health reasons) so fwd to my librarian friend. Don't know if she has saved enough funds to run a business, but might be a goer?

Imagine if we just told our children NO you can't borrow any books from libraries anymore. You have to buy each and every copy yourself, and instead of going to school you just need to get a job, or sell yourself to earn some money to buy books.

Also imagine if there was no free wifi and you had to pay to watch tv but it was really expensive like $50 per hour.

When I take someone out to lunch, which I did the other week, she ordered just one meal for herself but couldn't finish it so took it home to have it for dinner.

Not insane.
Also, people take doggy bags home to feed their dogs. (the bones)

There are hungry mouths to feed at home, in case you hadn't noticed. Not everyone has a full cupboard and pantry all the time.

That’s either a sad reality.

Or a cheek of a freebie.

I don’t know how much she earns and what her outgoings are, or even if she is struggling financially, and how many children she has to feed, but I sure hope you figure out why she has done this.

It’s one thing to be struggling financially but another thing to feel entitled🙁

Yes, but I was paying the bill.

She makes $40,000 a year. She got a salary bump by coming to my office or about $2,000 a year, but she now has an added expense to use public transportation to get to work. She has a husband who apparently only does odd jobs and two teenaged daughters still living at home. On Tuesday, our school board will approve a 4% pay increase for all employees but she has already made the comment that this is not enough.

This whole salary thing is uncomfortable, especially since everyone basically knows what others make (public information). Next week I am getting promoted. This comes with an approximate pay increase of around $15,000 a year. I actually feel a bit guilty despite the fact that it was my boss' decision to promote me and I actually did not negotiate the new salary.

Yes. The mean family income in Miami, FL is $44,268. A person working in Miami typically earns around 92,800 USD per year. Salaries range from 23,500 USD (lowest average) to 414,000 USD (highest average, actual maximum salary is higher).

The cost of living in Miami is the second highest in the state (15%) and 16% above the national average.

It is not easy to get someone a pay hike in our school system, as salaries are negotiated by labor contracts with the five main unions. She is under the same union as instructional personnel (United Teachers of Dade). My salary is negotiable, as all directors are under contract and do not have a union. This is both good and bad, as directors can be terminated at any point.

Taking into account this location, she is not making enough; however, there is little I can do about it. :(
