I encourage you to look into their preaching vs what the word actually means. I personally do not know about Mark Driscoll or Dave, but do the same with them as you would any other teacher.

You are right Klub. I must do like the Bereans and find out the bible for myself. Now that my faith is stronger this is something I have come to realize as imperative.

I also know what you mean when you say about these great teachers of the word. About a year ago I saw TD Jakes, and Joel Osteen all attending Oprah's Master Class or something like that. That brought a lot of questions to me. Like how can the two ever mix?

Anyways, like the bible says, as long as the gospel is preached. These preachers may have started off with great intentions and with life happening things ended up changing. But for me, the fact that they ventured out in the deep and gave obedience to God a try, for me that is grand.

But yes, we are to really pick carefully who we allow to sow into our lives.

As do I. In order for the great tribulation to come a supernatural event will occur before the rapture where ALL flesh will know it's God. Still many will reject Him and then the end.

Free will still reigns. We can't take anything away from those in power that don't want to lose power without the movement of God. Prayers cannot be heard with sin on our hands. Repentance must still occur, both by the church and by the unsaved in power, to effect change.

Yes, but first they must be a believer. Second they need to repent of their sins and then God will hear their prayers. Then the land will be healed through obedience to the Lord God.

I'm sorry, that is simply not true. If that were true, none of us over 5 years old would be saved then.

God does not change and though our sins are dealt with, if we still sin, we'll still suffer the consequences. Grace is abundant to the faithful believer who repents and ceases to sin. God's ear is deaf to those in sin, even Christians. This is why judgement starts in the Church. Why sin since we're free from sin. So if one sins, what more is God to do? If I go out and fornicate with everyone out there and I get sick, is that because God was unfaithful or I'm unfaithful? Since we are free from sin, and yet we sin, our flesh is ruling and must die to be blessed. Cause and Effect.

If 12 obedient men did such a great job, why hasn't 5th of the planet? Something's not right and that's sin in the lives of the "believers" if they're really believers to begin with.

God is crying out with the shmitah to get the attention of all for the mostly ineffective church. Jonathan Cahn has done several hours of video on this. I've confirmed everything he's said and I believe it. We'll see in September, but after last month, I don't see a great repentance taking place before then. I hope I'm wrong, 100% wrong.

Too many people make assumptions from "their thinking" and then try and connect scriptures to back them - Most claims today about false teachers and hersey is brought about by those who have no understanding in what is being spoken and quickly dismiss it as wrong according to their beliefs and understanding and then once again try to connect scriptures to this.

It happens all over the place and has been happening for generations. God directs a pastor to teach on a subject using certain scriptures and spends month and many times years seeking - speaking and teaching on these things. Now here are those who have no clue - they hear it and it makes no sense to them so it has to be false teaching and run with it. Bad mouth the pastors and such ( which we have NO right to do ) and then hunt up scripture to back their belief and other Christians swallow this and run with it.

The fun thing in this - watch what else these kind of folks say about things - it will make you think twice or at least it should.

Right now the world is so self sufficient they don't see the need for God. In my country, cause just about 2 weeks ago my church went on a mission trip to rural areas with about 25 other churches ( some from Romania and even USA yay!). I tell u preaching and reaching out to the poor was soooo unbelievably easy. Harvest is indeed plentiful and labourers few.

But in urban areas it's so tough that you get so intimidated :(

The gospel is for the poor, in spirit or materially. The ones who know they need Him.

Saints, this is why we need to give to the Gospel now more than ever. You know naively say well I gave last year. Forget it! Last year it's gone! That cycle is over with! Seed time - harvest of last year is gone. Every season is a fresh season. We are in a fresh season. What, what you gave last year will not reap you anything this year. What you gave even a few months ago is gone, you got the harvest for that."

Taken from his tbn praise a thon from 2000. This is obviously against scripture, he is simply making up excuses to not enter into Muslim countries. Jesus has NOT returned.

Scripture does not support modalism. Nor the prosperity Gospel, which Jakes preaches on.

Ok Klub,
Ever put a tad too much salt in your food and then not really wanna throw it away or go through the effort of making another dish - so you kind of eat at it though it's not as pleasurable as you wanted?

I feel, we need to take care of them. We can't throw them away. They could be our family member, boss or even expert medical specialist in a field.

The Sin is what to detest and not the sinner, -all the while loving them! Now that's a delicate balance to strike. And may not be everybody's call unless they are in your direct circle and have to be with them. You need God's grace and authority cause

Some Christians have a laissez faire approach to dealing with the truth. They say stuff like hey it's cool. When it's not. Now I know you gotta be prepared if you gon minister, but we shouldn't really do that if we haven't buckled and saddled up.

We speak the truth in love and deal gently with the weak. Amen

It's a pleasure Jim:)

Personally I am just happy the gospel is preached at all.

I respect or hold in high regard and esteem these teachers of the word for one reason.

They ventured out and did the best they could with what God told them to do. What God told all of us!

And year after year Benny Hinn is still at it. In his 'lil white suit holding crusade after crusade.

They have and will make more mistakes, but they bit the bullet and said "come what may Lord! Am 'gon preach'.

He is growing old now, but God bless him for giving it a shot(y):)

You're right on the nose there! Many powerful Christians have gone to India and Africa and seen thousands physically healed, emotionally healed and when those same Christians go to the USA or Europe, nothing happens, nothing. Faith is a very powerful mover and when those don't need things, they don't have much faith. Those that are poor in physical and spirit indeed have much faith. Desperate times call for desperate measures and when one is desperate, they'll believe almost anything, and thankfully, sometimes it's the Truth :)

And sometimes people preach falsely and you do neither them or those they preach to any Godly good if you are silent. Any true Christian should welcome correction. And it's quite true some people use out of context scripture to try to prove their point but then they usually project this practice on others. Like the Bereans, we should do our own homework and check with scripture to correct our own thinking. I won't quote all the scriptures that speak out against false teachers but we as Christians have every right to question and condemn the misuse of scripture. And I'm glad, @Mercedes Benz E Class that you are aware of the Bereans. There are a number of videos on youtube called "Strange Fire Conference" you might find interesting. Hmm, nobody really answered my question...or maybe I missed the post.

Id like to know where in the bible God made a covenant with america. If not, what covenant are people talking about.
 
I havent been to africa but used to sponsor a child in zambia through childfund. They would send me back reports on what it was like..and what they spent their money on and also the schools and sanitation and general states of the villages. I do know that HIV is a problem there and they want to educcate ppl about it.

But HIV has been a problem in the US too and i think it was the 80s lots of people started dying from it. When I grew up in the 90s as a teen schools would tell us we had to use condoms if we wanted to engage with sex. There was no real talk of abstinence, at least not in the public school and universities I went to anyway. I think many educators actively encourage teens to be 'safe' without goignto the root of the problem. I suppose it was a boon for condom manufacturers.

Anyway, I found growing up that males actually were NOT responisble in this area. The burden seemmed to be on the females and assumed they would use birth control pills.

Now what has this to do with same sex marriage? Everything.
Satan doesnt want people reproducing the proper way. He hates when people actually marry and make love and stay together.

He just wants people to have sex with anyone and eventually abandon or kill any children created. He will set up counterfeit marriage and make it easy for people to divorce at will.
