Blessings Abound at Church!

Good afternoon,

I don't know if I mentioned that the Lord had me minister to a young man and woman with 2 children on the streets Friday night. They expressed an interest to go to church but they did not have a vehicle. The one Van went and picked them up this morning. This is the church where Paul and Bridgette went. I went with Bridgett on the van today to pick the folks up. This young couple and the two children were on the van.

The message was so powerful today. At the end of the service, they gave the salvation message and asked non believers and believers alike who may have back slidden to come foreward if they wished to.

I went foreward to receive powerful prayer for healing today and guess what! The young couple went forward and gave their lives to Christ today! Oh my gosh it was such a moving experience.

Praises to our Lord for he is good.

My Baptism was just really great. I didn't have anything to worry about. Nothing really big happened. I did cry, but it was so different than I thought. You know, how things are never what you expect? Anyway, there were 10 of us, and most of them were children. Just me and another guy were adults. I don't know why, but that was different. I didn't ask.

So, thanx for the prayers for me. It was a big step to take. I may be off again for awhile to just study the Bible. I am studying the Rapture again cause I listened to a sermon online and the preacher talked about it and he had some pretty good scripture why we should expect to be present through all the Tribulation. It was really interesting. I'll see if I can find the stie again, so you all can listen to it.

It's always confusing to me how Christians can have so many different interpretations of scripture. I'm almost ready to side with BM and just not go to church, and get my answers from the Word instead. Except, I need the fellowship. But, I do need to stop asking so many questions and search for my answers in scripture. I need to stop being lazy.

Wow, two people came to the Lord Jesus through your initial contact with them!!! Dear heart, that is SO AWESOME!!!!!

Are they your first? You may not realise that many Christians (if not most) won't win one soul to Christ this year or next year, or the year after. In fact a rather high proportion will never help even one soul make it to heaven during their whole life! SO YOU HAVE DONE A WONDERFUL THING and should feel really fantastic about it!!!

Well done, sweetie!

Scripture Q and A...

Don't EVER stop asking questions, hon!! And stick with the amazing FELLOWSHIP we have here too. It's unusually good, it's a great site, and the Love here is really quite something!!

THE "RAPTURE"

Concerning the "Rapture" (the actual word is not in the New Testament), I don't believe you'll ever get to a certainty about what is going to happen and in what order. A major verse about this is 1 Thessalonians Ch 4:15-17 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Also 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 (click to view).

The church calls this the Rapture, along with other verses. I have no idea when the 'Rapture' occurs, e.g., in the middle of the Tribulation, or whenever. And because I know of no one who can give a definitive and CERTAIN order of events (despite what they'll claim) I just leave it with the Lord, and my gentle advice to you would be to do the same. You see, most times this is a satanic trap. If he can get you spending a pile of time trying to sort out something that ultimately you cannot achieve with certainty, then he's EFFECTIVELY KEEPING YOU from God knows how many IMPORTANT spiritual and Scriptural truths you need TO BE STUDYING for your personal Christian life and GROWTH!!

So, yes, go ahead and read what others say so you have some idea of what this is all about, but please understand that this will be just one 'groups' opinion - which will DIFFER from all the other groups!!! Yes, there are MANY differing interpretations of Scripture about this - and DOES IT REALLY MATTER when and how? OUR GOD IS IN CHARGE - He will DO what He's purposed to do, WHEN He's ready, and in the WAY He wishes! I belong to HIM and am TOTALLY HIS, so I personally see no reason WHATSOEVER to be concerned about it all!!

Please note that there are other "END TIMES" things that are the same as this, okay!! Like I said, I just leave it ALL with the Lord, and get on with the ESSENTIALS FOR TODAY!!! AND THESE ESSENTIALS MUST BE OUR FOCUS AT ALL TIMES, EVERY DAY!!!! Any time this is NOT happening, then SATAN HAS HAD ONE MORE WIN in your life!!!

GOING TO CHURCH

Inner Room members please note THAT AT NO TIME HAVE I SAID HERE NOT TO GO TO CHURCH, NOR WILL I EVER SAY THAT! The Scripture is clear that we Believers MUST meet together. Hebrews Ch 10:25 ..not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

I've probably said that WE don't go to church, but the reason for this is that our ill-health has made this QUITE IMPOSSIBLE now for over a dozen years! So I've spoken of it being "just me, Beloved, and the Lord" - and to us this is a 'majority' *smile* ('when two or three are gathered in His name'...) That is, we've HAD to be "our own church" for a long time now - no choice!! But now you guys are also our church - with us (and each other)! THANKYOU from the bottom of my heart for this!!!

I will add here, as I've said before, that ALL churches have their own DOCTRINE and PRACTICE, differing from each other and in parts (sadly) differing from Scripture. This can make it difficult to choose a church which will teach you the pure Scriptures.

Then, as I've not been in any church with it's specific doctrines and practices for some time now, I've been greatly BLESSED IN BEING REMARKABLY FREE to read the Scriptures just with the Holy Spirit's revelations of them, and it's my belief this is a major reason the New Testament's message has become so CLEAR to me in more recent time. As ALWAYS, GOD has HIS utterly amazing WAYS: in that me being so ill has ultimately brought about something so profitable and good!!

I'm SO happy that you are now baptised as a Believer in the Lord Jesus according to the Scriptures! Peter said:

Acts Ch 2:38 Then Peter said to them, 'Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.' (Two commands and a couple of promises in that ONE VERSE there!)

You've done it now, and unquestionably God is pleased! Well done, Sweets!!

Yes my first! Praise the Lord!
I stopped by their home tonight to let them know of a progam here in town that can help them with needs for the children and such.

The gentleman said I want to ask you about this Bible.. he sat and read it last night and today. She as well was excited and they wanted to know their roles in their relationship. He said how come the bible does not say much about women. I said oh but it does.. keep reading.. told him of some of the women from the bible.

Encouraged him to go to the men's group on Tuesday nights at Paul's home.
The little guy had on his flannel pj's and slippers that God provided yesterday. Just warmed my heart!

On another note, my insurance company denied having the Cat Scan done stated it was not medically necessary.. I am to see an ear, nose throat specialist now,, but we all know the specialist of all is watching over me.. Praises to our Lord!

To be responsible for, or to help someone enter the Kingdom sure is EXCITING, isn't it!! Two precious, precious lives, brand new to the Christian experience!

Many folks think, wow, that's it! WRONG!! This is the very, very BEGINNING!! They have just gone through the door, to begin their new life as new-born BABIES! That was actually the EASY PART!!! Now the real work can start!! What they said shows how little they know - virtually NOTHING in fact! So here's the question we need to ask: "Do we feed a new baby on MEAT?" NO!! "Do we plonk a plate of meat and veg beside them in their crib and say, "There ya are! Go for it, bubs!! Or even WORSE, do we not give them ANYTHING TO EAT AT ALL??

Very SADLY that's how many or most new-born Christians are treated in the West!! I've never been able to understand why ALL churches don't have a strongly setup DISCIPLING COURSE for their new-borns. (Not doing so could easily enough be called 'criminal behaviour' really...) Instead they may be told to go and read the Bible. Hrmph!! I bought my first Bible for my 18th Birthday, the Revised Standard Version (RSV). NOT born again yet, but strongly SEEKING God, I thought I could figure out how to BECOME A CHRISTIAN by reading it. And I truly DID try - and BOMBED!!! (I got absolutely NOWHERE...)

We always start reading a book from the BEGINNING, right? So new Christians will likely do this with the Bible. Okay, the first few Chapters of Genesis are good, important to know, and not TOO hard to understand. But before long they'll get bogged down in A begat B, who begat C, who begat D, or in the hundreds of OT laws that no longer apply to anyone. NOT THE WAY TO GO AT ALL! At the VERY LEAST we should point them to the NEW TESTAMENT, which is where their Christian life and growth will be based! And we could then suggest they start in LUKE, as those 'in the know' say that it's the best book for a new Believer to start with.

However, just a cursory glance at posts of new Christians here in The Inner Room WILL SHOW QUITE CLEARLY HOW HARD IT IS TO READ AND UNDERSTAND THE NEW TESTAMENT - the 4 Gospels and Acts aren't too bad, but as soon as you hit ROMANS... Erp!! And a MAJOR reason for this is the ACTUAL LANGUAGE! My first serious converts were in the late 1960's, and they were kids I taught, ages 10 and 11. Throw even the BEST modern Translation at them, and they'll give up within hours, maybe even minutes! SIMPLY TOO HARD TO UNDERSTAND!!

New ADULT Christians aren't a lot different!! We had new "simple English" New Testaments on hand to GIVE to each new convert. Worked GREAT!! If I was out in the world like you guys are, I'd have a small stash of New Testaments (or whole Bibles) of the Contemporary English Version. Here's an example of this Version: Romans Ch 8:1-2 1 If you belong to Christ Jesus, you won't be punished. 2 The Holy Spirit will give you life that comes from Christ Jesus and will set you free from sin and death. Wow, how nice and simple and clear is THAT!! They can just about read through the whole NT and gather a whole pile of understanding in doing so.

If they start with Luke, then perhaps John next. After that they could try Ephesians, which says some really nice things and great truths. But this SIMPLY HAS to be in a simple version like the CONTEMPORARY ENGLISH one, or they'll get bogged down trying to understand what they're reading. There's pretty-much nothing WORSE we could do to an EXCITED new Believer!!

Finally this is doing what the Scriptures say about TAKING THE GOSPEL TO THE WHOLE WORLD then DISCIPLING (TEACHING) CONVERTS, so they can eventually take THEIR PLACE IN SPREADING THE GOSPEL, and so on!! THAT'S HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO WORK, FOLKS!!! Matthew 28:19-20 and Mark 16:15-16. Click these to read Jesus' commands to us ALL!!!

I expect a Cat Scan would be pretty exxy, wouldn't it? Sound crazy they rejected it...

Yep, it's sure great to just give it all up into His mighty hands!! Such a RELIEF rather than 'trying' to handlt it ourselves!

You know what was on my heart last night? I think the street ministry is great and all but what I thought of last night, is what you said above.. discipling them. I thought about all the hearts that are touched on Saturday with the Care-A Van and all, but what do these people do when the get home? What about all the folks that do walk into a church .. get moved, then go out the door. How many Christians go out and go back on knock on those doors and share the love?

Sure they get blessed by the food, we share them Christ love, we encourage them to come to church and such, but once they are in the door, what are the other folks there doing to feed them spiritually?

Last week-end on the streets, I was led to help a young gal carry her groceries back to her apartment. As she gathered her groceries, the other woman working with me said she needs prayer. When we got back to the apartment, I asked her if I could pray for her. She invited me in. I sat there for half an hour. She poured out her heart. Her story was that she was being accused of child molestation. Now this young gal knew God. She cried and said she was innocent. She stated this 2 year old boy kept pulling her pants down and lifting up her shirt. As she was pulling her pants back up from him grabbing them, the mother walked in and instantly thought something was going on. Hence the charge for the molestation. She said she knows that God knows the truth and the truth will come out. This young gal is now told by the courts that she cannot leave the county for Christmas to go and see her father in another state. We prayed for the truth to be shown. It had been in the newspaper and of course the media just had a hayday.

God does not want us gossiping. We see much in the homes and on the street. I talked to Paul about this. We (he , his wife and I) share about what is going on as folks are continually coming to them, or the bus on Saturdays. There are folks that will "use" the system, because they know no other way.

As a matter of fact as I type this, I think of a few times some folks in the ministry say it gets discouraging when they dont' see a change, but again it dawned on me last night, who is going and sitting and sharing the word? We can plant the seed with the clothes, the food, a prayer and show them the love of Christ, but who is stepping up and continuing to feed them? Now I know many will say, they have got to want it, they have got to take the step.. we cannot enable them..

Let me tell you something this morning.. I AM THANKFUL THAT NONE OF YOU, NOT ONE OF YOU GAVE UP ON ME!
I am thankful you put up with my PM's, my emails, my posts.. You did not enable me, you just kept pouring out our God's love on me. Because of that , that is where I am today. Praises to our Lord!

Please continue to pray for my health situation. Also pray for good weather that I may get to be with my daughter this week-end!

I love you all!

SWEETS!!! How wonderful! Congratulations on your baptism! **jumping up and down in excitement**

Bondman: excellent posts, as usual! I totally agree with what you have been saying! Especially about the Rapture and the discipling New Borns. Something that I noticed a few years ago in a mainstream church. People come up to the front to join the church or be baptised, then they are never seen again. Bothered me, alot! Then later, realized why it was. They were left to fend for themselves. Shame!

Faithwoman: still praying for ya, hun!

Mmm, you are certainly thinking about a lot of things, hon!

We didn't give up on you because of Jesus' New Commandment: to love one another as He loves us!! (John 13:34) - and because of the agape the Holy Spirit has put in our hearts. (Romans 5:5). Love has no end - or certainly SHOULDN'T have any end! You are our Sister in Christ, and we do love you!!

A Lesson

First of all let me say

Yesterday saw over 260 visits to The Inner Room! This is quite a deal higher than the average, and amongst the highest of days to date.

That is awesome! Bondman I want to encourage you to keep sharing your love and messages. Even though at times it may become discouraging if like people are not participating through posts and such, they are reading, they are "lurking" in the background. When I was actively involved in Empowered Recovery www.empoweredrecovery.com a forum for non alcoholics in an alcoholic relationship, there were many at times that people were not actively posting, but they were "lurking". Some of those lurkers came forth, even after a year to share from their hearts. They were reading and learning. It takes alot of courage to come forth and share what is really going on in our lives.

But as you well know me by now, I am not a lurker. I come forth and share all, some may say TMI (to much information) but what I have found is that others are in the background going through the same things I had gone through and just need a little direction and guidance. Our mighty Lord has gifted me with the gift of sharing and the gift of a open mouth (hmm I must be careful at times..lol!)
Anyway keep sharing!

The lesson I learned yesterday was one you have taught us but I need to be diligent in which Sweets is doing... Studying the scriptures, seeking the answers. It is even more important to me now that the Lord has led me to the streets, so when folks question me about the best book of all, I help lead them and guide them like you and many others do. This young gentleman had poured over the book and when I stopped yesterday he and his girlfriend had many questions. Some I could help with, others I struggled a bit with. Then it boils down to how we have said that scripture will speak to all of ous in different ways, but if we are seeing God's truth, he will speak to us and show us what we need to hear and learn.

I have appointment with Ear, Nose and Throat specialist on Friday. Keep praying!

A good and thoghtful post, hon! No, you're certainly not a lurker, that's fo sure! (Just for the record, neither am I *chuckles madly!*) But "lurking" is absolutely fine by me! As you say, not everyone wishes to share. I'm grateful that you and Sweets and Fluffy do. We're actually a great team IMO!!!

You're spot on about the Scriptures: the more we know the more we can share, and that's exactly why I write Messages of the major truths of the New Testament. My earnest hope is that the knowledge that can be gleaned from them may stand Inner Roomies well when thay have to speak about the truth of the Lord Jesus. 1 Peter Ch 3:15 But in your hearts set Christ apart as holy [and acknowledge Him] as Lord. Always be ready to give a logical defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope that is in you, but do it courteously and respectfully.

I ADORE that verse!! First Peter says to keep Jesus in a special place in our hearts, as our Lord! Second, he speaks of us being READY to logically explain to anyone WHO ASKS why we have such a wonderful hope and assurance of our place now and after death. Third, he says for us to do that with respect and courtesy, i.e., no bombastic speech or attitude, but in love.

And yes the experiences of life are almost always ones that we all go through! Such an important truth, because we may easily enough be thinking "it's just me". Seldom is that so!!

Thanks again for your post. We'll be praying!

- BM

Boldness

Hi there!

I have come to realize that I need to pray for the Lord to give me more and more Boldness. We all need that. Those of us who know our Lord need to have boldness in our lives so we can speak up for the love that Christ has for all of us.

I prayed for this just this morning. As I walked across the parking lot, I saw one of the men that I prayed with in his car during the street ministry. I did not know his story until now..

I saw him. It was getting dark outside. But the Lord touched my heart.
I hollered out to him. Hey there , how are you doing? He said hey missy..
We talked for half an hour in the freezing cold air. Come to find out, his daughter died last year at the age of 43 and he is raising the kids on his own. He has a 17 year old granddaughter that is having some of the same issues I have with my 16 year old daughter. The Lord encouraged him through me to understand the love he has for us. Our Lord's love is great.
I gave him the quick TMI (lol) testimony right there on the spot in regards to where my life went when I was focused on men instead of God.

I told him that I was always available to visit with his granddaughter.
I told him how our lives our different when we live for Christ.
I encouraged him to seek the Lord. Seek a Lord's home where other believers can lift him and the kids up. I told him he does not need to do this alone. The Lord is there.

At the end we shared our phone numbers. I told him that was my number. I also told him the other line is open 24-7. The line directly to our Lord.

My whole point of rambling is if you have Christ in your heart, and he is your all, seek the Boldness the Lord will give you. There are alot of hurting people out there. The Lord is coming, he is coming soon. Are you bold enough to go out and share? What is holding you back? Fear? Whatever it is .. pray about it and God will help you.

Hugs

I am ready to sign up as well.. I need to learn to give up my desires and look for gods..I realize I have been going in the wrong direction for a long time and I need to find Gods Directions.. I am truly proud to have found this forum.. Thank you Jesue for opening this door for me! God Bless each and everyone of you..

Hi all! Well, since my Baptizm, I have been really praying to God and getting back that personal relationship I once had. I don't where I got off track, but I'm getting back on. Perhaps all the emotional journey my dh and I were having dumped me by the side of the road. HeHe. Anyway, I have not been worrying about my tears and blubbering and going on and on. Just getting re-acquainted. I have tons of books that are collecting on the shelves that I need to read also. But, I think I should put the list up for others to peruse to see if the authors are reputable and not way off, like The Shack and others I've gotten into.

Well, I'd better get back to work. I've only got one week left to cleaning the library, and then I'm laid off. They guy lost one big job ($700/mo), which caused him to put me on notice until he can replace it. Which means he will be cleaning this place until he can make up what he lost. I just had a feeling this was going to happen, and so I didn't rush to pick my missionary to sponsor. What a disappointment. I wanted to get a bicycle too for one of them who needed one. But, I will pray and ask God to give me another 2nd job, maybe he will be merciful and give me a less back-breaking one. Norm has been helping me lately, so that the work is less. Amazing! That way, he stays away from certain things that have him down. That's another blessing.

Thanx for being here. I am one of those lurkers, if I get a moment at the library. HUGZ, Sweets
